How the GEO audit works
- Enter a domain and the tool makes live requests to your site: it fetches the homepage, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap, then checks your title, meta description, H1, Open Graph tags and schema.org markup (Organization, Product, FAQPage). It runs on the same engine as the Technical Audit inside the product.
- Your robots.txt is read separately for eight AI bots: GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, CCBot and Bytespider. One list shows which bots you allow and which you block — blocking a major one pulls the score down hard.
One honest limit: the audit looks at your homepage and site-wide files only; it does not crawl every page. And it measures technical readiness — whether AI answers actually mention you is a different question this tool cannot answer.
How to read the result
The score runs 0-100; each check adds a full point when it passes and half when it partly passes. Above 80 you are in good shape, 50-80 means a few fixes will get you there, and below 50 start with the red rows — a blocked bot or an unreachable site makes everything else irrelevant. The orange recommendation lines are your to-do list in priority order: fix from the top, then re-run the audit.
